Life isn’t always sweetness and light. One day whilst feeling overwhelmed, I stopped to take a breath and looked around to find lots of people who always seem love life. That’s when my mind started to race – “How did their life become so full of joy? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?” That’s when it hit me, happiness comes from within.
Along time ago I heard someone say “loving means accepting.” To love oneself means to accept that you are not perfect and behind the imperfections lies the courage to take your life to the next level.
So what’s stopping you from being happy?
Contentment is a happiness killer. It’s that place where you’re not happy but you’re also not unhappy enough to make a change. To be happy you must find a way to move past your contentment.
How do I do that?
The time to change your life is now, break those shackles of contentment, get out there and make it happen, whatever ‘it’ is for you. Who cares if you fail, at least you tried and anything is better than a life full of mediocrity.
Once you start on this journey to happiness you won’t want to turn back, the more you do the more your confidence will grow, the better your life will be. It becomes an upward spiral where you become happier and happier over time for as long as you keep moving forward.
There is no secret sauce to being happy. That’s because happiness means different things to different people so if I were to give you specific instructions for you to go out and do something, chances are high that this would not make you happy. It’s up to you to learn what makes you happy and go out there and get it.
Only when you accept that everybody has faults not just you, that your faults are no worse than anybody else’s, you know what makes you happy and have the courage to go out and get it can you truly be happy. So what are you waiting for, now is as good a time as any to start.
